Coastal flood advisory runs through noon Tuesday
The National Weather Service has a coastal flood advisory for the San Diego County coast until noon Tuesday. Forecasters expect minor to locally moderate flooding of beach parking lots, parks and low roads, with only a few road closures. The highest water comes with the late morning high tide each day, peaking at 7.4 to 7.6 feet on Sunday and Monday. That’s 1.3 to 1.6 feet above the predicted tide.
Rip current risk is moderate today with surf of 2 to 4 feet and sets to 5 feet. It rises to high on Saturday, when surf of 3 to 5 feet and sets to 6 feet are expected. Water temperatures are around 72 to 76 degrees.
Swim near a lifeguard tower, and avoid the lowest beach lots around the late morning high tide this weekend. Don’t drive through standing water or around barricades. Our flooding and road alerts guide explains where to check conditions.

Hot weekend ahead, with offshore winds today and Saturday
Downtown should top out near 81 today under sunny skies, then 86 on Saturday and 88 on Sunday. The weather service says coastal areas and western valleys could run 5 to 15 degrees above normal this weekend, and some inland spots may reach around 90 on Sunday.
Weak to moderate offshore flow picks up today and Saturday, with gusts around 25 to 40 mph in the passes, canyons and coastal mountain slopes. Winds ease on Sunday. A slow cool-down starts Monday, and the next chance of rain is still late next week, though the models disagree on timing and amounts.
Plan hikes and outdoor plans for the morning, bring water and never leave kids or pets in a parked car. Our November weather guide has packing tips.

Imperial Beach stays closed, with bacteria advisories at several other beaches
Four Imperial Beach stations remain closed: Cortez Avenue, the pier, Carnation Avenue and the end of Seacoast Drive. Stay out of the water there. Silver Strand State Beach and Coronado Beach currently show as open on the County map.
Bacteria advisories are posted at Black’s Beach, Children’s Pool, La Jolla Cove, the South Mission Beach jetty, the San Diego River outlet at Dog Beach in Ocean Beach, and the Tourmaline drain outlet. Those mean recent samples exceeded state standards, so avoid water contact until the County lifts them.
Check your beach at sdbeachinfo.com or call the County hotline at 619-338-2073 before you swim or surf. Our San Diego beaches guide and best beaches list can help you pick a spot with cleaner water.

SR-75 connector closes early Saturday, and eastbound SR-78 closes Sunday and Monday nights
Caltrans will close the northbound SR-75 connector to northbound I-5 on Saturday from 3 a.m. to 8 a.m. for drainage cleaning. Drivers heading north on SR-75 can continue toward the southbound I-5 connector, exit at National Avenue/27th Street, turn right onto National Avenue, then turn right onto the northbound I-5 on-ramp.
Eastbound SR-78 at South Rancho Santa Fe Road in San Marcos closes on November 8 and 9 from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. while crews replace weigh-in-motion sensors. Traffic will exit at South Rancho Santa Fe Road and re-enter eastbound SR-78 at the same interchange.
Build in extra time if you’re on those connectors early Saturday or late Sunday and Monday. QuickMap has live lane status. Our getting around San Diego guide covers freeway and transit options.

Rapid 235 skips two I-15 stations today, and Route 929 drops early trips
From 8:45 a.m. to 2 p.m. today, southbound Rapid 235 will not stop at the I-15 Centerline stations at El Cajon Boulevard and University Avenue while Caltrans cleans the bus lane and replaces delineators. Board the southbound Route 60 stops at the I-15 ramps at El Cajon Boulevard and University Avenue instead.
Route 929 is also short a few trips today after a mechanical breakdown. The 5:55 a.m. departure from 12th & Imperial and the 7:19 a.m. trip from Iris Transit Center are canceled. Stadium Station elevators on the Green Line remain out through tonight, so use the ramp or stairs if you’re headed to Snapdragon.
Check the MTS alerts page before you ride, especially if you usually board those Centerline Rapid stops. Our getting around San Diego guide explains Rapid and trolley routes.

Wave playoffs tip off at 7 tonight, with extra Green Line trolleys
San Diego Wave FC hosts the Utah Royals at Snapdragon Stadium tonight at 7 p.m. in the NWSL playoffs. MTS is adding Green Line trips before kickoff on top of the usual 15-minute service, with extra runs leaving the Gaslamp as early as 5:44 p.m. After the match, trolleys leave Stadium Station about every 15 minutes starting at 9:07 p.m.
Stadium Station elevators are still out of service through tonight, so plan on the ramp or stairs. Free Park & Ride lots connect to the Green Line if you want to skip game-day parking.
